Symptoms

• Multiple sensor error codes simultaneously
• Unstable operation and floating engine speeds
• Incorrect sensor readings on the diagnostic scanner
• Switching to emergency mode with power limitation
• Check Engine light on

Causes

• Circuit E wiring short circuit to ground
• Internal sensor fault with short circuit
• Moisture in the ECU connector or wiring harness
• Damaged reference wire insulation
• Faulty internal ECU reference voltage

How to Fix

1. Check the voltage at the reference voltage terminal E with the ignition on (normal is about 5 V)
2. Determine the list of circuit E sensors from the vehicle wiring diagram
3. Turn off the E circuit sensors one by one, monitoring the voltage change
4. If a culprit sensor is detected, check its internal resistance and replace it
5. Check the wiring for abrasions and short circuits to the body
6. If the voltage remains low with all sensors disabled, diagnose the ECU
