Causes
- Intake air temperature sensor IAT2 malfunction
- Short circuit in the sensor wiring to ground
- Damage or corrosion of sensor connector contacts
- Broken wiring between the sensor and the ECU
- Engine control unit malfunction
- Contamination or mechanical damage to the sensor
How to Fix
- Read error codes and real-time data using a diagnostic scanner
- Check the supply voltage of the IAT2 sensor (should be about 5V)
- Measure sensor resistance at different temperatures according to specification
- Check the integrity of the wiring from the sensor to the ECU
- Inspect the sensor connector for corrosion or damage.
- If necessary, clean the contacts or replace the connector
- Replace faulty intake air temperature sensor
- Clear error codes and test drive to check
