Symptoms

  • Check Engine Light Illuminates
  • Increased fuel consumption
  • Unstable engine operation at idle
  • Reduced engine power
  • Difficulty starting the engine
  • Engine knocking or knocking

Causes

  • Intake air temperature sensor IAT2 malfunction
  • Short circuit in the sensor wiring to ground
  • Damage or corrosion of sensor connector contacts
  • Broken wiring between the sensor and the ECU
  • Engine control unit malfunction
  • Contamination or mechanical damage to the sensor

How to Fix

  1. Read error codes and real-time data using a diagnostic scanner
  2. Check the supply voltage of the IAT2 sensor (should be about 5V)
  3. Measure sensor resistance at different temperatures according to specification
  4. Check the integrity of the wiring from the sensor to the ECU
  5. Inspect the sensor connector for corrosion or damage.
  6. If necessary, clean the contacts or replace the connector
  7. Replace faulty intake air temperature sensor
  8. Clear error codes and test drive to check
