Symptoms

• Check Engine light on
• Extended engine warm-up time
• Increased fuel consumption
• Reduced aerodynamic efficiency at speed
• The engine does not reach operating temperature for a long time

Causes

• Mechanical jamming of blinds in the open position
• Worn or broken return mechanism (spring)
• Actuator malfunction - does not develop enough force
• Deformation of blinds plates
• Failure in the blind control module

How to Fix

1. Read codes and check the current position of the blinds using a diagnostic scanner
2. Inspect the blinds - check for deformation or foreign objects that are preventing them from closing
3. Check the actuator control signal during the closing command
4. Manually try to close the blinds - evaluate the resistance
5. Replace the actuator or blind assembly
6. Carry out adaptation according to the manufacturer’s procedure and test drive
