Symptoms
- Check Engine Light Is On
- Can't switch driving mode
- The car is locked in Normal or Sport mode
- Incorrect engine response to pressing the gas pedal
- Error message on the instrument panel display
Causes
- Short circuit in the mode switch wiring to the power circuit
- Oxidation or damage to the switch connector
- Faulty driving mode switch A
- Damage to the wiring harness in the steering column area
- ECU malfunction (rare)
How to Fix
- Read all fault codes with a scanner and document them
- Check the integrity of the wiring and connector of mode switch A for breaks, short circuits and oxidation
- Measure the voltage on the signal wire of switch A - with the lock in the ON position, it should not exceed the reference specification value
- Check the resistance of the switch in all positions according to the manufacturer's data
- If a faulty switch is found, replace it
- Clean connectors, repair damaged wiring and recheck the system
