Symptoms

- Spontaneous switching of driving modes
- Inability to select the desired mode
- Unstable operation of the transmission or suspension
- Intermittent error messages on the dashboard
Causes
- Worn or damaged contacts on mode switch A
- Moisture or dirt getting into the switch connector
- Unstable reference voltage in switch circuit
- Damage to the insulation of the harness wires in the steering column area
- ECU malfunction (rare)
How to Fix
- Read all fault codes, pay attention to associated codes P05D0–P05D7
- Inspect the connector and wiring of mode switch A for moisture, corrosion, and mechanical damage.
- Measure the voltage in each switch position and compare with the reference values according to the manufacturer’s documentation
- Check reference voltage and switch ground circuit
- If the readings are unstable, replace the driving mode switch A
- After repair, reset codes and perform a test drive to confirm the problem has been resolved.
