Symptoms
- Check Engine Light
- Engine overheating under high load or hot weather
- The third fan does not turn on
- Reduced cooling system efficiency at peak loads
- Increase in engine temperature
Causes
- Short circuit of the control wire of the third fan to ground
- Third fan relay fault
- Broken or damaged wiring
- Third fan motor malfunction
- Internal ECU fault
How to Fix
- Read OBD-II codes and determine fan configuration
- Measure the voltage in the third fan control circuit
- Check the third fan relay
- Check fan motor (direct power supply)
- Check wiring for shorts and breaks
- If the circuit is working properly - ECU diagnostics
