Sensor Reference Voltage A Circuit Range/Performance
Severity
⚠️ MediumCan you drive?
Limited driving only, diagnose soon
Approx. repair cost
$6–56 (est.)
Symptoms
- Check Engine Light Is On
- Periodically unstable engine operation
- Floating idle speed
- Inconsistent sensor readings
- Periodic failures during acceleration
Causes
- Poor contact or oxidation of the connector of one of the sensors of group A
- Incipient breakdown of 5V line wire insulation
- Sensor with unstable internal resistance
- Microcrack in the track of the ECU printed circuit board
- Moisture in the connector or wiring harness
How to Fix
- Read the error codes, pay attention to the intermittent codes of sensors of group A
- Inspect all group A sensor connectors for oxidation, corrosion, poor contact
- Perform a wiggle test on the wiring with the engine running - monitor the response on an oscilloscope
- Measure the reference voltage in the dynamics with an oscilloscope
- Eliminate bad contacts, replace damaged wiring sections
- Reset codes and do a long test drive
