Severity
⚠️ MediumCan you drive?
Limited driving only, diagnose soon
Approx. repair cost
$6–56 (est.)
Symptoms
- Check Engine Light Is On
- Periodic unstable engine operation
- Unstable sensor readings during warm-up or vibration
- Intermittent dips when accelerating
- Spontaneous appearance and disappearance of sensor errors
Causes
- Poor or intermittent contact at Group D sensor connector
- Incipient insulation breakdown of the reference line wire
- Unstable sensor with changing internal resistance
- Moisture in Group D wiring harness
- ECU reference voltage regulator instability
How to Fix
- Read error codes, identify sensors of group D according to the diagram
- Inspect the connectors of group D sensors, clean from oxidation and moisture
- Perform a wiggle test on the harness with the engine running.
- Measure the reference voltage with an oscilloscope under load - identify instability
- Replace a faulty sensor or eliminate a wiring defect
- Reset codes, perform a long test drive in various conditions
