Symptoms

  • Check Engine light on
  • The start-stop mode indicator does not light up or lights up constantly
  • The status of the start-stop system is unknown
  • Possible incorrect behavior of the start-stop system
  • Other lights on the instrument panel may flicker or behave abnormally

Causes

  • Open or short circuit in indicator circuit wire
  • Faulty lamp or instrument panel LED cluster
  • Oxidation of the connector in the control circuit
  • Internal fault of the ECU or start-stop module
  • Lost communication between the start-stop module and the instrument panel

How to Fix

  1. Check the operation of the start-stop indicator when starting (should light up during self-test)
  2. Check the control signal voltage at the indicator input
  3. Inspect the wiring and connector of the lamp control circuit
  4. Check for communication errors between the instrument panel and the computer
  5. Replace lamp or fuse if necessary
  6. If the wiring is correct, diagnose the start-stop control module
