Symptoms

  • Check Engine light on
  • Intermittent spark plug system error codes
  • Unstable operation of candles of the second group
  • Difficult cold start in some conditions
  • Unstable display of GPCM2 data on the scanner

Causes

  • Unstable contact in the data bus connector (oxidation, weak pressure)
  • Interference on the LIN bus from other devices
  • Partial damage to bus wire insulation
  • Unstable power supply of GPCM2 (voltage sags)
  • Partial internal degradation of the bus transceiver in GPCM2 or ECU

How to Fix

  1. Check the GPCM2 data bus connector for oxidation and reliable contact
  2. Use an oscilloscope to analyze the LIN bus signal in real time
  3. Check the GPCM2 power supply for instability while the engine is running.
  4. Make sure there is no interference from other devices on the bus
  5. Carefully inspect the tire wiring harness for friction against metal.
  6. If component degradation is detected, replace GPCM2
