Symptoms

  • Check Engine light on
  • Ineffective heating of spark plugs of the second group
  • Difficult or unstable cold starting
  • Errors on individual candles of the second group
  • Unstable engine operation after a cold start

Causes

  • Degradation of internal power switches GPCM2
  • Software glitch in GPCM2 firmware
  • Incorrect module calibration or setup
  • Partial malfunction of current sensors inside GPCM2
  • Unstable power supply causing control errors

How to Fix

  1. Read extended GPCM2 data - warm-up time, spark plug current, module temperature
  2. Check power and grounding of GPCM2
  3. Check for ECU/GPCM2 firmware updates from the manufacturer
  4. Make sure there are no associated spark plug fault codes.
  5. Carry out a functional test of the glow plug system
  6. If necessary, replace GPCM2
