Symptoms
- Check Engine light on
- Ineffective heating of spark plugs of the second group
- Difficult or unstable cold starting
- Errors on individual candles of the second group
- Unstable engine operation after a cold start
Causes
- Degradation of internal power switches GPCM2
- Software glitch in GPCM2 firmware
- Incorrect module calibration or setup
- Partial malfunction of current sensors inside GPCM2
- Unstable power supply causing control errors
How to Fix
- Read extended GPCM2 data - warm-up time, spark plug current, module temperature
- Check power and grounding of GPCM2
- Check for ECU/GPCM2 firmware updates from the manufacturer
- Make sure there are no associated spark plug fault codes.
- Carry out a functional test of the glow plug system
- If necessary, replace GPCM2
