Symptoms

• Check Engine light on
• GPCM2 does not control spark plugs of the second group
• Difficult cold starting of diesel
• Error codes for cylinders of the second bank
• The pre-heating lamp does not work normally

Causes

• GPCM2 Flash Memory Damage Due to Voltage Drop
• Exposure to static electricity
• Physical wear and tear of memory cells after long-term use
• Moisture getting into the internal circuits of the module
• Poor quality power supply to the on-board network (surges when lighting a cigarette)

How to Fix

1. Check the quality of power supply of the on-board network (for voltage surges)
2. Check the condition of the battery and generator voltage regulator
3. Try to reset the error - in rare cases, a one-time failure can be resolved by rebooting
4. If the error returns, replace GPCM2
5. Make sure the new module is programmed correctly
6. Check the spark plug system after replacement
