Symptoms

  • Check Engine light on
  • Difficulty cold starting the engine
  • White smoke on startup
  • Error codes for individual cylinders of the second group
  • Unstable engine operation when warming up

Causes

  • GPCM2 internal hardware fault
  • Loss of module power or ground
  • Lost communication between GPCM2 and ECU
  • Overheating or moisture penetration into the module
  • Damage to the module connector or wiring

How to Fix

  1. Read all error codes, including the codes of the second group of spark plugs (P06E2, P06E3)
  2. Check the GPCM2 supply voltage with the ignition on
  3. Check GPCM2 grounding
  4. Make sure there is communication between GPCM2 and the ECU
  5. Inspect the connector and module housing for damage
  6. If there is an internal fault, replace GPCM2
