Symptoms
- Check Engine light on
- Difficulty cold starting the engine
- White smoke on startup
- Error codes for individual cylinders of the second group
- Unstable engine operation when warming up
Causes
- GPCM2 internal hardware fault
- Loss of module power or ground
- Lost communication between GPCM2 and ECU
- Overheating or moisture penetration into the module
- Damage to the module connector or wiring
How to Fix
- Read all error codes, including the codes of the second group of spark plugs (P06E2, P06E3)
- Check the GPCM2 supply voltage with the ignition on
- Check GPCM2 grounding
- Make sure there is communication between GPCM2 and the ECU
- Inspect the connector and module housing for damage
- If there is an internal fault, replace GPCM2
