Symptoms
- Check Engine light on
- Glow plugs do not warm up properly
- Difficult cold start of a diesel engine
- The pre-heating lamp behaves unusually
- Additional fault codes for individual cylinder spark plugs are possible.
Causes
- Internal malfunction of spark plug control module circuits
- Unstable power supply or poor module grounding
- Violation of data exchange between the module and the ECU
- Overheating or damage to the control module
- Poor quality power supply to the on-board network (voltage surges)
How to Fix
- Check the supply voltage and quality of grounding of the glow plug control module 1
- Make sure that the data exchange between the module and the ECU is correct
- Check the operation of individual glow plugs
- Read extended module diagnostic data by scanner
- If there are no external reasons, replace the glow plug control module
- Make sure the system works correctly after replacement
