Symptoms

  • Check Engine light on
  • The spark plugs of the second group of cylinders do not work
  • Difficult cold starting at low temperatures
  • Unstable operation during warm-up
  • Error codes for cylinders of the second bank

Causes

  • Broken wire in the ECU-GPCM2 communication line
  • Oxidation or damage to the GPCM2 connector
  • GPCM2 internal circuit malfunction
  • No power or ground GPCM2
  • Internal ECU fault (GPCM2 control port)

How to Fix

  1. Check for power and ground on GPCM2
  2. Check the integrity of the control line wire from the ECU to GPCM2
  3. Inspect the GPCM2 connector for corrosion and damage
  4. Make sure that the ECU receives a response from GPCM2 (check via scanner)
  5. If there is a break, restore or replace the control line wire
  6. If there is an internal fault in GPCM2, replace the module
