- Uneven engine operation during transient conditions
Causes
- Faulty intake air temperature sensor IAT2
- Open or short circuit in sensor wiring
- Oxidation or contamination of connector contacts
- Engine control unit (ECU) malfunction
- Wiring harness damage due to vibration or overheating
- Oil or dirt on the sensor
How to Fix
- Read error codes using an OBD-II scanner
- Visually check the condition of the sensor and its connector
- Check the sensor supply voltage (usually 5V)
- Measure the sensor resistance and compare with standard values
- Check the integrity of the wiring from the sensor to the ECU
- Clean connector contacts from oxidation
- If necessary, replace the intake air temperature sensor
- Clear error codes and test drive
