Symptoms

  • Check Engine light on
  • Loss of power at high speeds and acceleration
  • The engine runs in "economy" mode without switching the cam profile
  • Deterioration of dynamic acceleration characteristics
  • Change in engine sound when accelerating

Causes

  • Actuator C solenoid control circuit open wire
  • Faulty solenoid (winding break)
  • Damaged drive solenoid connector C
  • Oil contamination that has clogged the drive channels (mechanical cause)
  • ECU malfunction (extremely rare)

How to Fix

  1. Locate Bank 1 Camshaft B Actuator C Solenoid According to Engine Diagram
  2. Check the solenoid connector for damage and oxidation.
  3. Measure the resistance of the solenoid winding (usually 6-14 Ohms) - replace if broken
  4. Check the ECU control signal at the connector while the engine is running.
  5. Make sure that the pressure and quality of the engine oil are normal
  6. Replace the solenoid or repair the broken wiring, reset the codes
