Symptoms

• Check Engine Light Is On
• The grille blinds are fixed in one position
• Decreased fuel efficiency
• Possible overheating during prolonged use
• Disabling the active blind system

Causes

• Short circuit of the sensor signal wire to supply voltage
• Internal position sensor fault
• Sensor ground wire break
• Damage to wiring insulation
• Blind control unit faulty

How to Fix

1. Read error codes and check for related codes
2. Disconnect the sensor connector and measure the voltage on the signal wire (should be about 0 V without sensor)
3. Check the resistance and integrity of the wiring between the sensor and the ECU
4. Check the integrity of the sensor ground wire
5. Replace the position sensor if the wiring is OK
6. Clear error codes and test drive
