Symptoms

• Check Engine Light Is On
• The blinds are fixed in one position (open or closed)
• Increased fuel consumption
• Possible overheating in hot weather or high load
• Air noise through the grille (with stuck open blinds)

Causes

• Short circuit of the sensor signal wire to ground
• Sensor power wire break
• Internal sensor malfunction (short to housing)
• Corrosion or contamination of the sensor connector
• Open circuit between sensor and ECU

How to Fix

1. Read all error codes and document
2. Visually inspect the wiring and connector of the section B sensor
3. Disconnect the connector and check the sensor supply voltage (usually 5 V)
4. Check the signal wire for a short circuit to ground (resistance to the body should be infinite)
5. Replace sensor if wiring is normal
6. Reset the error and check the system operation
