Symptoms
- Difficulty starting the engine at low temperatures

- White or bluish smoke from the exhaust pipe
- Check Engine Light Is On
- Increased diesel fuel consumption
Causes
- Faulty glow plug cylinder 9
- Open or short circuit in circuit wiring
- Oxidation of glow plug connector contacts
- Malfunction of the glow plug control module
- Insufficient voltage on-board network
How to Fix
- Connect a diagnostic scanner and read all available error codes
- Inspect the wiring and glow plug connector of cylinder 9 for damage and oxidation
- Check the resistance of the glow plug with an ohmmeter (the norm is 0.5–2 Ohm)
- Check the supply voltage at the spark plug connector when the ignition is turned on.
- Replace a faulty glow plug if the parameters deviate
- Check the operation of the glow plug control module if the wiring is correct.
