Symptoms

Causes

• Worn or broken glow plug filament for cylinder 12
• Damage to control circuit wiring
• Oxidation of the glow plug connector
• Glow plug control module failure
• Low battery voltage

How to Fix

1. Read and record all fault codes
2. Gain access to cylinder 12 glow plug (partial disassembly may be required)
3. Measure the resistance of the glow plug and compare with the norm
4. Check the wiring of the spark plug control circuit for open circuit and short circuit.
5. If necessary, consider a comprehensive replacement of all glow plugs
6. Check the supply voltage and functionality of the spark plug control module
