Causes
- Faulty oxygen sensor (lambda probe)
- Open or short circuit in heater wiring

How to Fix
- Read error codes with a diagnostic scanner
- Check oxygen sensor circuit fuses
- Inspect the sensor connector for corrosion and damage.
- Measure the resistance of the sensor heater (should be 2-14 Ohms)
- Check the supply voltage at the sensor connector
- Check the wiring from the sensor to the control unit
- If necessary, replace the oxygen sensor
- Clean the connector contacts and treat with a protective compound
- Clear error codes and take a test drive
