Symptoms
- Misfire or complete lack of spark in the cylinders of the coil G
- Unstable idle
- Possible overheating of the coil or wiring
- Check Engine Light Is On
- In severe cases, it is impossible to start the engine
Causes
- G coil control circuit wiring short to ground
- Ignition coil G fault (internal short circuit)
- Damage to the coil connector (contact is shorted to the body)
- ECU control transistor malfunction
- Moisture in the connector or coil
How to Fix
- Read error codes, freeze frame data
- Disconnect the coil connector G and check for an error - if it disappears, the problem is in the coil
- Check the short-circuit wiring between the coil connector and the ECU to ground (multimeter in Ohm mode)
- Inspect the wiring for pinches on metal parts
- Check the resistance of the primary winding of the coil G
- Replace the coil or eliminate short circuit in the wiring
