Symptoms

  • Misfire or complete lack of spark in the cylinders of the coil G
  • Unstable idle
  • Possible overheating of the coil or wiring
  • Check Engine Light Is On
  • In severe cases, it is impossible to start the engine

Causes

  • G coil control circuit wiring short to ground
  • Ignition coil G fault (internal short circuit)
  • Damage to the coil connector (contact is shorted to the body)
  • ECU control transistor malfunction
  • Moisture in the connector or coil

How to Fix

  1. Read error codes, freeze frame data
  2. Disconnect the coil connector G and check for an error - if it disappears, the problem is in the coil
  3. Check the short-circuit wiring between the coil connector and the ECU to ground (multimeter in Ohm mode)
  4. Inspect the wiring for pinches on metal parts
  5. Check the resistance of the primary winding of the coil G
  6. Replace the coil or eliminate short circuit in the wiring
