Symptoms

• Check Engine light is on
• Active blind system does not work or is stuck in one position
• Slight increase in fuel consumption
• Extended engine warm-up time in cold weather
• Cooling system error codes may appear

Causes

• Open or short circuit in the blind position sensor circuit
• Damage or oxidation of the sensor connector
• Faulty blind position sensor
• Mechanical damage to the blinds or drive
• Faulty blind control module

How to Fix

1. Read all error codes and check for associated cooling system codes
2. Visually inspect the radiator grille louvers for physical damage or foreign objects.
3. Check the connector and wiring of the position sensor for oxidation and damage.
4. Measure the supply voltage and signal voltage of the position sensor
5. Check sensor circuit resistance to specification
6. If necessary, replace the position sensor or blind module
7. Reset codes and check system operation
