Symptoms

• Check Engine light is on
• Engine overheating when driving in hot weather or under load
• The blinds appear to be stuck in the closed position.
• Increase in coolant temperature above normal
• Cooling fan operation under unusual conditions

Causes

• Icing or heavy soiling of the blinds, blocking opening
• Mechanical damage to the blind plates or drive hinges
• Malfunction of the actuator (electric motor) of the blinds
• Deformation of the blind body due to impact or accident
• Gear or transmission failure in the blind drive mechanism

How to Fix

1. Read error codes and check coolant temperature - make sure there is no overheating
2. Inspect the blinds through the radiator grille for deformations, foreign objects, ice
3. Try to manually move the blinds - assess the presence of mechanical resistance
4. Give a command to open the blinds through the diagnostic scanner and observe the reaction
5. Check the operation of the blinds actuator: supply voltage, current consumption
6. Replace the blind unit or actuator if mechanical damage is detected
7. Reset codes and make sure the blinds are working properly
