Symptoms

• The Check Engine light is on (may appear and disappear)
• Blinds periodically stop responding to commands
• Intermittent decrease in fuel efficiency
• The error code may not be reproduced during diagnosis
• Unstable operation of the cooling system under different modes

Causes

• Oxidation or unreliable contact in the blind position sensor connector
• Damage to wire insulation with intermittent short circuit
• Unreliable connection in the sensor ground circuit
• Mechanical impact on wiring due to engine vibration
• Initial stage of position sensor failure

How to Fix

1. Read error codes, check for frozen data (freeze frame) to analyze the conditions of occurrence
2. Carefully inspect the sensor connector - move it, check the fixation
3. Check all wiring connections on the path from the sensor to the ECU for chafing
4. Perform a load test of the circuit: swing the wires with the engine running and observe the signal through the scanner
5. Clean or repair connectors if oxidation is detected
6. Replace the position sensor if you suspect the beginning of its failure
7. Reset codes and perform an extended test drive in different conditions
