Symptoms

• Check Engine light comes on
• Bank 2 valve is constantly activated
• Bank 2 Power or Torque Reduction
• Minor asymmetry in engine operation
• Possible overheating of the solenoid

Causes

• Short circuit of the control wire to the power wire (+12 V)
• Bank 2 wiring harness insulation damaged
• Incorrect wire connection after repair
• ECU output stage malfunction (bank 2 control)
• Contact of the wire with hot parts of the engine, leading to melting of the insulation

How to Fix

1. Check the voltage at the control contact of bank 2 solenoid with the ignition off
2. Check the control wire for a short to positive when the connector is disconnected
3. Inspect bank 2 wiring harness for insulation damage
4. Check the output stage of the ECU if the external wiring is in good condition
5. Restore insulation or replace damaged wire
