Symptoms

• Check Engine light is on
• Blinds do not move or move with great force
• Active blind system in emergency mode
• Slight decrease in fuel efficiency
• Slow engine warm-up in cold weather

Causes

• Short circuit of the actuator control wire to ground
• High circuit resistance due to oxidized connectors or poor connections
• Power loss due to problems with the vehicle's on-board network
• Internal short circuit in the actuator windings (short circuit to housing)
• Insufficient power supply to the blinds control module

How to Fix

1. Read error codes and check on-board power supply parameters (battery voltage)
2. Inspect the connector and wiring of the actuator for damage and short circuits to the body
3. Measure the voltage of the control circuit when the command is active and compare with the norm
4. Check that the control wire is not shorted to ground using a multimeter
5. Measure the insulation resistance of the actuator wiring relative to the body
6. Replace the actuator if an internal short is detected
7. Reset codes and check normal control circuit parameters
